Women’s Volleyball Toppled by Sharks and Chargers

BOSTON, MA: The Anna Maria College women's volleyball returned to action this afternoon when they traveled to Boston for a tri-match with Simmons University and Colby-Sawyer College at the Simmons University Sports Center.

THE BASICS:

HIGHLIGHTS

• In the first game of the day, the AMCATS fell in three sets to the host Sharks. Freshman setter Isabella Sand (Seymour, CT) was the most productive of the AMCATS, leading the team with 5.5 points on two kills, three service aces, and an assisted block. She also added a dig for good measure.
• Senior outside hitter Bella Kozciak (Westfield, MA) led the AMCATS with five kills while hitting .500 for the match.

• In their second game of the afternoon, it was senior outside hitter Sarah Burt (Plymouth, MA) who paced the AMCATS attack, scoring eight points on six kills and a pair of service aces.
• Senior middle blocker Ryann Hassett (North Oxford, MA) was just off the pace set by Burt, recording seven points off of five kills, a service ace, and a blocked shot.
• Kozciak had her second five-point game of the afternoon with four kills and a service ace.

Anna Maria will be in action again on Wednesday when they host another Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponent, the Dean College Bulldogs at the Fuller Activities Center. The teams will take the court for a 6 PM start.
