Women’s Volleyball Thwarted by Blazers

CHICOPEE, MA: The Anna Maria College women's volleyball team returned to action this evening when they traveled to the Maguire Center for Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action against Elms College.

THE BASICS:

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Senior outside hitters Bella Kozciak (Westfield, MA) and Sarah Burt (Plymouth, MA) led the AMCATS with seven and six kills respectively. Senior Merlyne Gil had a season-high three kills.
  • Burt was also one of a pair of AMCATS with two service aces, the other being senior middle blocker Ashely Sheehan (Medford, MA).
  • Freshman setter Isabella Sand (Seymour, CT) contributed assists on 15 of the AMCATS 21 kills.
  • The Blazers saw two players with double-digit kills as Jaylianne Ramos had 19 kills and Laura Jensen had 11. Jensen also led the Blazers with five service aces.

UP NEXT:

Anna Maria will be in action again on Tuesday when they host another Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponent, the Johnson & Wales Wildcats at the Fuller Activities Center. The teams will take the court for a 6 PM start.
