NEWTON, MA. – On Saturday, September 30th the Anna Maria College women's volleyball team traveled to Newton, MA for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference tri-match with Lasell University and the University of Saint Joseph (CT). The AMCATS lost both matches 3-0.
The AMCATS started their day out against the Lasell University Lasers. Unable to keep up with the Lasers, the AMCATS would drop two quick sets with scores of 25-16. Trailing 2-0 the Lasers finished things off with a 25-12 set win closing out the AMCATS first match with a 3-0 loss.
Things wouldn't get much better for the AMCATS during their second match with the Bluejays. Trailing 2-0 after two quick set wins for Saint Joseph's, the AMCATS managed to fight back in the third and final set, giving the Bluejays a run for their money. Ultimately the AMCATS would lose the final set 25-20 resulting in two 3-0 loses for the day.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Serena Dennis and Jana Hunt led the AMCATS with 10 digs in their second match against the Blujays.
- Hunt would total 20 kills on the day.
