Volleyball Goes 0-2 During Mount Holyoke Tri-Match

HADLEY, MA. – On Saturday, September 23rd the Anna Maria College women's volleyball team traveled to Hadley, MA for a non-conference tri-match with Mount Holyoke and Salve Regina. The AMCATS lost both matches 3-0.

The AMCATS opened the tri-match up against Salve Regina. Struggling to keep up, the AMCATS went down quick in the first set with a score of 25-10 in favor of the Seahawks. Putting up more of a fight in the second set, the AMCATS still came up short trailing behind 25-17. The Seahawks would end the match with 3 straight set wins over the AMCATS.

The AMCATS second match would be against the host team Mount Holyoke. Putting up a fight in the first set, the AMCATS still came up short with a score of 25-19. The AMCATS would lose momentum in the second and third sets of the match with Mount Holyoke coming out on top 25-10 and 25-13 for three straight set wins, thus ending the AMCATS road trip.

Shae Savoie led the AMCATS in game two with 16 digs against Mt. Holyoke. Jana Hunt would follow as close second with 15.

Serena Dennis took charge in game one with 17 digs against the Seahawks with two serving aces. Savoie had seven kills against the Seahawks in the first match.
