Cadets Narrowly Beat Men's Basketball 74-70

PAXTON, MA - On Saturday, December 10th the Anna Maria College men's basketball team hosted the Norwich University Cadets for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference Matchup. the AMCATS lost the game 74-70.

The first half of the game was closely contested, with Anna Maria taking a one-point lead of 32-31 into halftime. Norwich came out strong in the second half, outscoring Anna Maria 43-38 to secure the victory. Both teams put up a fight, but Norwich's strong offensive performance in the second half was the key to their success.

Jopaul Mckrieth was the leading scorer with 22 points. Mckrieth had a strong shooting performance, making 10 of his 19 field goal attempts. However, his efforts were not enough to lift Anna Maria to victory. Ray Carter Jr. and Gabe Armstead also contributed with 10 points each.

Both teams had similar shooting percentages, with Norwich shooting 46.3% from the field and Anna Maria shooting 45.9%. Both teams were dead even from outside the arc shooting 33.3% each way. Anna Maria had a slight edge in free throw shooting, making 64.7% of their free throws compared to Norwiches 56.3%.

The AMCATS will be back in action on Monday, December 11th where they will host the Trailblazers of MCLA in the Fuller Center. Opening tip off is set for 6:00pm.
