Owls Fly Past Men's Basketball In Second Half

WESTFIELD, MA - On Wednesday, December 6th, the Anna Maria College men's basketball team traveled to Westfield, MA to take on the Westfield State University Owls for a non-conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 71-58.

The game started with both teams displaying their offensive abilities and scoring consistently in the first half. Anna Maria kept the game close in the first half only trailing by one point going into the intermission. Sean Zabari led the AMCATS offense in the first half with 11 points going five for nine inside the paint with one three pointer.

Despite the close first half of the game, the Owls came out on fire in the second half, outscoring the AMCATS 43-31. Brendon Hamilton and Juju Omot played significant roles in Westfield St.'s win, contributing crucial points. For Anna Maria, Gabe Armstead and Jopaul Mckrieth put up a commendable effort, but the team struggled to maintain their momentum against the relentless Westfield St. defense. The turnovers and missed shot opportunities hindered Anna Maria's chances of mounting a comeback.
