Pilgrims Sneak Past Men's Basketball 70-62

HENNIKER, NH - On Saturday, December 2nd the Anna Maria College men's basketball team traveled to Henniker, NH to take on the Pilgrims of New England College for their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup of the season. The AMCATS lost the game 70-62.

The first half saw both teams evenly matched, with New England College taking a slight lead of 28-24. However, the game's momentum shifted in the second half when New England College outscored Anna Maria 42-38 to maintain their lead until the final buzzer.

Anna Maria College fought relentlessly throughout the game but fell short of victory. Gabe Armstead scored the highest for Anna Maria, tallying 13 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Jopaul Mckrieth was another standout player, scoring 11 points and contributing four rebounds.

Both teams faced numerous challenges throughout the game, resulting in a total of 40 personal fouls and 40 turnovers combined. Several technical fouls were also called, emphasizing the intensity and competitiveness of the match.

  • Jopaul McKrieth went 5-8 inside the paint.
  • Gabe Armstead led the AMCATS with 7 rebounds in the matchup.
  • Joe Novelli was perfect on the free throw line shooting 3-3.

The AMCATS will be back in action on Wednesday, December 6th where they will travel to Westfield, MA to take on the Owls of Westfield State University. Opening tip off is set for 7:00pm.
