Dahill Stops 68 Shots In 3-2 Win Over Lancers

WORCESTER, MA. – On Saturday, November 4th the Anna Maria Women's Ice Hockey team made their way down Pleasant Street to take on the Worcester State University Lancers. The AMCATS won the game 3-2.

The Lancers were the first on the board with a goal from Olivia Fehl just five minutes into the first period. The Lancers would take control of the first period out shooting the AMCATS 24-1. Sam Dahill battled things out trying to hold off the Lancers and keep the score at 1-0, however a late goal with just seconds left on the clock made it a 2-0 game going into the second period.

The second period would be much closer for the AMCATS as things kicked off early when Jordyn Bleaney set up Tessa Henry for a power play goal just three minutes into the period. Cutting the Lancers lead in half, the AMCATS went back and forth with Worcester State for most of the second period before Bleaney tied things up with another AMCATS power play goal with six minutes left to go in the second period.

The Lancers threw everything they had at the AMCATS in the third period out shooting them 38-2. It wouldn't matter because Sam Dahill would end up stopping all 38 shots that came her way in the third period. Despite being out shot, the AMCATS managed to take the lead exactly ten minutes into the third off the stick of Jordyn Bleaney who recorded her third point of the night. With the help of some rock solid goaltending, the AMCATS would hold off the lancers to secure the 3-2 win.
