Women’s Ice Hockey Drops Salem State In Rematch
MARLBORO, MA: The Anna Maria College women's ice hockey team won 3-1 over visiting Salem State University on Friday night at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro, Massachusetts. The game was a rematch of the AMCATS' 2-0 loss at the Vikings on November 23rd.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Down 1-0 after the first period, Anna Maria sophomore forward Sam Deiches (Dix Hills, NY) scored the equalizer for the AMCATS 12:39 into the second, assisted by sophomore forward Shayla MacDonald (Victoria, BC).
- Anna Maria junior forward Sara Sammons (Western Australia, AUS) scored the go-ahead goal and eventual game winner with 1:13 to go in the second, assisted by sophomore goalkeeper Angelina Rodriguez (Corona, CA).
- Anna Maria freshman forward Jordyn Bleaney (Nanoose Bay, BC) scored the insurance goal 3:58 into the third, assisted by fellow freshman forward Raven Carriere (Labroquerie West, MB).
- Salem State senior center MacKenzie Mallett (York, ME) scored the Vikings' sole goal of the game, assisted by sophomore forward Hallee Courtemanche (Warwick, RI).
- Anna Maria junior goalkeeper Julia Smith (Chillwack, BC) picked up the win, stopping 34 of 35 shots.

The AMCATS are headed into their winter break, but they'll be back on the ice on Friday, January 14th when they play host to Lebanon Valley University in an 8:00 p.m. game.
