Four AMCATS Selected All-ECHA

PAXTON, MA: Four players from the Anna Maria College women's ice hockey team were recognized by the Eastern Collegiate Hockey Alliance (ECHA) as the AMCATS posted their best season in the history of the program.

Anna Maria junior forward Sara Sammons (Western Australia, AUS) was voted first team All-ECHA by the coaches of the alliance. Sammons finished with five goals and six assists in 18 games for the AMCATS, and was recognized during the season as the ECHA Player of the Week twice.

Anna Maria junior defender Alyssa MacDonald (Nanaimo, BC) was voted All-ECHA second team, anchoring the AMCAT defensive unit and accumulating three assists in 20 games.

Anna Maria freshman forward Jordyn Bleaney (Nanoose Bay, BC) had an explosive rookie season, leading the team in goals with seven and points with fourteen.

Anna Maria freshman forward Raven Carriere (Labroquerie West, MB) was also voted to the all-rookie team after accumulating 12 points over 20 games, including a team-high nine assists.

Anna Maria will be back on the ice on Sunday when they travel to Worcester State for a 3:00 p.m. game with the ECHA Championship on the line.
