Women’s Ice Hockey Tie Wolves to Finish Successful Road Trip

READING, PA: The Anna Maria College women's traveled to Alvernia University on Saturday afternoon for a non-conference matchup at the Body Zone Sports and Wellness Complex.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Hot off their first win of the season, the AMCATS were in action for the second day in a row. After a pair of scoreless periods, both teams' offenses woke up in the third period scoring two goals each.
  • After the Wolves scored the first goal of the game just past the 10-minute mark, junior winger Angelina Rodriguez (Corona, CA) responded less than three minutes later and tied the game for the AMCATS with her first goal of the season and fourth of her collegiate career. Grace Dodge (St. Paul, MN) and Jordyn Bleaney (Nanoose Bay, BC) were credited with the assists.
  • With just under three minutes left in regulation, Dodge gave the AMCATS the lead when she lit the lamp off an assist from Bleaney.
  • The Wolves would respond with a power-play goal with only 75 seconds left in regulation.
  • The teams would then play a pair of scoreless overtime periods to seal the final score at 2-2.
  • Senior goaltender Julia Smith (Chilliwack, BC) finished the game with 34 saves on 36 shots. It was the second game this year that Smith has recorded more than 30 saves.
