Women’s Ice Hockey Rallies To Down Rivier

MARLBORO, MA: Down 3-1 early in the second, the Anna Maria College women's ice hockey team stormed back to win 6-4 over visiting Rivier University on Friday evening in Eastern Collegiate Hockey Alliance (ECHA) action at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro, Massachusetts.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Anna Maria junior forward Grace Dodge (St. Paul, MN) was a force for the AMCATS with two goals and an assist. Dodge's goal with 8:12 left in the third period proved to be an eventual game-winner.
  • Anna Maria senior forward Riley Cote (Tewksbury, MA) scored her third and fourth goals of the season, giving her the goal-scoring lead for the AMCATS on the season.
  • Anna Maria junior forward Sara Sammons (Western Australia, AUS), the reigning ECHA Player of the Week, finished with a goal and an assist.
  • Anna Maria freshman forward Jordyn Bleaney (Nanoose Bay, BC) dished out three assists on the night.
  • RIvier freshman forward Margaret Dickson (Brewster, MA) had two goals for the Raiders.
  • With the Raiders in the first season of their program, It was the first ever meeting between the ECHA rivals.
