A Night Of Firsts As Women’s Hockey Shuts Out The Greyhounds On The Road

Worcester, MA: On Sunday night Nov 27, the Anna Maria College women's ice hockey team Traveled to the Buffone Skating Arena in Worcester, MA to face off against the Assumption University Greyhounds. The AMCATS beat the Greyhounds 4-0.

THE BASICS:

HIGHLIGHTS

• The AMCATS are first on the board, 9:40 into the first period with a short side goal scored by Angelina Rodriguez assisted by Julia Ballinger on the power play 
• Anna Maria closed out the first period leading 1-0.
• The Greyhounds held off the AMCATS as long as they could before Olympia Myers found the Back of the net 11:06 into the second period assisted by Orla O'Driscoll.
• Anna Maria kept the momentum going with Carly Drew scoring her first career goal off the face off with 2:22 left in the second period. She was assisted by Chloe Becher. The AMCATS lead 3-0 going into the third.
• The Greyhounds were held scoreless in the third period with Freshman Goaltender Aurora Vanwormer standing tall in the net for Anna Maria. 
• To close out the game Becher tipped in her first career goal off a shot from Abigail Vigliotte with 23 seconds left on the clock. Becher had two points on the night.
• Goaltender Vanwormer posted her first career win and shutout with 25 saves on 25 shots. She was joined by Drew and Becher who scored their first career goals.
