Alvernia Edges Women’s Ice Hockey In Overtime

MARLBORO, MA: The Anna Maria College women's ice hockey team lost 1-0 to visiting Alvernia University in overtime on Friday evening at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro, Massachusetts.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Anna Maria junior goaltender Sam Dahill (Littleton, MA) – already the reigning ECHA Goaltender of the Week – stopped the first 35 shots she faced in net, carrying the AMCATS into overtime.
  • Alvernia junior goaltender Julia Beaven (Seaforth, ON) picked up the shutout win with 20 saves.
  • Alvernia first year defender Sydney Bradley (Lititz, PA) scored the game-winner 1:24 into overtime, assisted by sophomore Lexi Hooper (Charlotte, NC) and junior Olivia Gilida (Littleton, CO).
  • Anna Maria senior forward Riley Cote (Tewksbury, MA) finished with three shots.

 

UP NEXT:

Anna Maria will be back on the ice on Saturday when they again host Alvernia for a 3:00 p.m. match.
