Full ECHA Release

PAXTON, MA: Senior forward Riley Cote (Tewksbury, MA) and freshman forward Jordyn Bleaney (Nanoose Bay, BC) of the Anna Maria College women's ice hockey team were recognized by the Eastern Collegiate Hockey Alliance (ECHA) as Player and Rookie of the Week respectively for the week ending January 30, 2022 as announced by the alliance on Tuesday.

The AMCATS had an impressive weekend with a pair of convincing wins at King's College in Pennsylvania, winning 3-1 on Friday before cruising to a 6-1 victory on Saturday. Anna Maria has already won more games this season than in their first three years as a program combined.

Cote finished with two goals and four assists over the course of two games. The senior is currently second on the team in points with 12 over 16 games. She becomes the third AMCAT named ECHA Player of the Week this season.

Bleaney had a weekend for the ages for the AMCATS, with four goals and an assist in back to back wins, including scoring the eventual game-winner in Friday's 3-1 victory. The rookie leads the AMCATS in goals (7) and points (13). It is the third time Bleaney has been named ECHA Rookie of the Week, with her teammate Raven Carriere (Labroquerie West, MB) also being recognized for the week ending January 23.
