HIGHLIGHTS

  • It was an extremely even game that oscillated between being physical and skilled at various times but neither team could bend the other team too far to their will. The teams finished the game even with 30 shots each, both teams finished with two penalties and two power play opportunities that neither could take advantage of.
  • The AMCATS scored the game's first goal late in the opening period. Following a cross-ice pass from Angelina Rodriguez (Corona, CA) to Hannah Harvey (Fredricton, NB) went down into the left corner where Harvey turned and centered the puck to Sara Sammons (Western Australia, AUS) in front of the net. Her shot was intended for the right side of the net but redirected off a defender's skate and went into the open side of the net with 3:13 remaining in the period. The goal was Sammons' first of the year and the assists were also the firsts of the year for Harvey and Rodriguez.
  • Senior goalkeeper Julia Smith (Chilliwack, BC) recorded 28 saves on 30 shots.
  • The Raiders scored their goals in the second and third periods. The goal in the second period was scored by Paige Anger (assisted by Jillian Hallee at 15:51). The game-winner in the third was scored by Brianna Rumptz (assisted by Hallee at 15:40).
