Women’s Hockey Shuts The Door On Worcester State for Back To Back Shutouts

WORCESTER, MA: The Anna Maria College women's ice hockey team traveled down the road to the DCU Center in Worcester, MA to face off against the Lancers of Worcester State. The AMCATS won the game 3-0.

THE BASICS:

  • Date: Saturday, February 11, 2023
  • Score: Worcester State 0, Anna Maria 3
  • Records: Worcester State Lancers 15-7-1 | Anna Maria AMCATS 4-15-2

HIGHLIGHTS

  • After a scoreless first period the AMCATS were the first on the board with a goal from Riley Cote buried the puck off a pass from Grace Dodge and Shayla MacDonald eleven minutes into the second period.
  • After closing out the second period leading over the lancers 1-0 the AMCATS found themselves back on the board with a goal from Grace Dodge with just over five minutes left in the third period. She was assisted by Angelina Rodriguez and Jordyn Bleaney.
  • With the AMCATS leading 2-0 the Lancers pulled their goalie to try and cut the lead in half but were met with an empty net goal from Jordyn Bleaney with a little over two minutes left to play. Bleaney was assisted by Sara Sammons and Meghan Sonia.
  • Sam Dahill stopped all 38 shots earning her First career NCAA shutout.

Anna Maria women's ice hockey will be back in action on Friday, February 17 where they will head to UMASS Amherst to face off against the Minutemen. Puck drop is at 7:50PM.
