WEST HARTFORD, CT - On Friday, March 29th the Anna Maria College Baseball team traveled to West Hartford, CT to take on the University of Saint Joseph(CT) Bluejays for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS won the game 3-1.

Junior ace Nick Choate was electric again as he struck out 12 and scattered 2 hits over 7 scoreless innings to lead the Amcats to their 1st conference win over the St Joes Connecticut Bluejays. Choate was from the 1st pitch as he struck out 2 Bluejays an inning 5 out of his 7 innings pitched and didn't allow a runner past 2nd baseball afternoon.

The Amcats struck first in the top of the 3rd when Andrew Denison led off with a single, and stole second. Captain Tommy Sasso reached on a fielders choice before Graduate Captain Kosta Drosidis hit the 1st pitch he saw into left field for an RBI single to put the cats on top 1-0. The score would remain the same until the 7th when Drosidis would be hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to bring home the Amcats 3rd run of the day.

That was all the Cats would need as Freshman Owen Sullivan picked up his 1st save of his career closing out the final 2 frames.. He would strike out 4 over the 2 innings of work, leaving the bases loaded in the 9th to lock down the Amcats win.
