Choate And Forget Named GNAC Pitchers Of The Week

PAXTON, MA - On Monday March 18th, JR RHP Nick Choate and GR RHP Eden Forget were both named GNAC Pitcher of The Week for games played from March 11-17.

Choate followed up his impressive 13 strikeout outing last week with a career high 15 punchies Saturday in a complete game 2-hit shutout of the Mass Maritime Buccaneers. Choate was in complete control from the first pitch as he would strikeout the side in the 1st, 6th, and 7th innings. Choate would only allow 4 baserunners to touch first all day as he gave up 2 hits, a walk, and 1 HBP. At 92 pitches through 6 innings in a tight game, as any ace would, he asked for the ball to finish what he started, and answered the bell with 3 strikeouts to put a bow on his dominant day on the mound. After Saturdays masterpiece, Choate sits at a whopping 40 strikeouts in 3 starts this year, and 180 for his career thus far.

Forget was just as dominant on Saturday as she put together a career high 13 strikeout, 2 hit, 5 inning complete game shutout against Vermont State-Johnson Badgers. She punched out a minimum of 2 batters an inning, including striking out the side in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings. Forget gave out no free passes in this on, and worked around a leadoff triple in the 5th to preserve her shutout. Saturday's performance puts Forget at 21 Strikeouts for the season, and 165 for her career.
