Chickering Named AMCAT Senior Woman Administrator

The Anna Maria College Athletic Department is proud to announce the designation of Samantha Chickering, Sports Information Director, to the position of Senior Woman Administrator (SWA).

Since joining the AMCAT family in 2014 Chickering has brought life to all 13 of Anna Maria College's athletic teams through her role as Sports Information Director. Her expertise in social media, marketing and promotions has positively enhanced the AMCAT name.

Chickering is a member of Co-SIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) and ECAC-SIDA (Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference – Sports Information Directors Association). She was named Sports Information Director of the Year by the GNAC in 2015.

Athletic Dicrector, Laura Habacker, announced Chickering's new role as Senior Woman Administrator on Monday. "I am honored to announce that Sammi will be accepting the role as our Senior Woman Administrator; this position is well deserved. Sammi has the experience and dedication to this department to make a great administrative impact" said Habacker. Along with her role as Sports Information Director, Chickering will carry the responsibilities of the SWA for Anna Maria College Athletics.

The SWA is the highest ranking female in each NCAA athletic department or member conference. The designation of this position is intended to encourage the involvement of female administrators in meaningful ways in the decision-making process in intercollegiate athletics. The role is intended to enhance representation of female experience and perspective at the institutional, conference and national levels and support women's interests.

Chickering's experience and dedication to the Anna Maria College Athletic Department more than qualify her for this role. The department looks forward to her involvement in administration and knows she will positively represent the female experience and perspective at all levels of intercollegiate athletics.
