Bio

Anna Maria Football and Basketball alumni, Bailey Braga, enters his second season as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for Anna Maria Football. Graduating in May of 2019, Bailey received a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science. His efforts to bring an established Strength and Conditioning program to Anna Maria Athletics started at the beginning of the 2019 Spring semester where he interned in the Athletics Department. He programmed, scheduled, and supervised, voluntary organized team training sessions along with associate head Baseball Coach, Brett Holmgren. Throughout a successful spring, many teams became involved in the offseason training programs. There were incredible improvements across the board and the preliminary offseason of training was a success. Bailey and Brett organized summer training programs to even more teams.

Going further than his degree in Exercise Science, Bailey is a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) through the NCSF, as well as a Certified USAW Level 1. through United States Weightlifting Association. Bailey has completed internships at Worcester Physical Therapy, Worcester Sports Performance, as well as Anna Maria. He most recently worked as a Sports Performance Coach at Edge Performance Systems in Northborough, Massachusetts.

Bailey was a two-time recipient of Anna Maria Football’s “Work Horse” award, as well as receiving the Len Smith award during the Atheltic Department Awards Night. The Len Smith award is awarded to a student-athlete who displays grit, tenacity, perseverance, and loyalty, as well as being a fierce competitor. Bailey was a Dean’s List student while completing his undergrad, his Senior Capstone was research and an informative presentation on, “The Importance of Having a Strength and Conditioning Professional in College Athletics.”  He will pursue a Master’s degree in Business at Anna Maria as well.

Bailey’s focus will be strength and conditioning for the football team, but he will also be working with other Men’s and Women’s sports teams respectively.
