Drosidis and Usenia Awarded GNAC Weekly Honors

PAXTON, MA: Two student-athletes on the Anna Maria baseball team were awarded Great Northeast Athletic Conference weekly honors for their combined performances last week. Kosta Drosidis (Holden, MA) took another Player of the Week, while Jake Usenia (Uxbridge, MA) was named the Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his collegiate career. 

Drosidis helped the AMCATS to a 3-and-1 week in conference action as they took down Saint Joseph's College in a weekday split and swept Rivier University this past Sunday. Drosidis finished the week with a .471 average accompanied by a .765 slugging. Of his eight recorded hits, half were extra-bases with three doubles and a triple. Drosidis finished the week with a team-high eight runs batted in.

Usenia threw for five innings against Rivier this past Sunday. In his outing, he only allowed six hits, no earned run, and seven strikeouts of the Raider hitters. He also received his first college win on the mound.
