David Doherty, Baseball

Sophomore infielder David Doherty (North Smithfield, RI) of the Anna Maria College baseball team has been named the AMCAT Spotlight Male Athlete of the Week. It was a busy week for the team but Doherty stepped up to the plate and had an impressive performance all week. This week he batted .471 and had 8 RBI’s in four games, 4 alone being in game two of Saturdays double header against Mass Maritime. Additionally, Doherty had 3 doubles this weekend.

The AMCATS will be back in action on Wednesday, March 20th where they host the Vermont State Castleton Spartans at the New England Baseball Complex in Northborough, MA. Opening pitch is set for 3:00pm.
