2021 GNAC Baseball and Softball All-Conference Awards

PAXTON, MA: The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) has released the All-Conference teams for the 2021 spring season. Today is the final announcement that will cover baseball and softball All-Conference Teams and major awards. 

Thirteen student-athletes made it onto an All-Conference Team between the two rosters. Two student-athletes were named to the All-Sportsmanship Team, and Anna Maria was the Institutional Sportsmanship Award winner for softball. Baseball also received one of the major awards.  

Eden Forget (Worcester, MA) made it onto the GNAC's Third team All-conference at the shortstop position for softball. Kassandra Register (Bakersfield, CA) found herself on the All-Sportsmanship team. The final award for softball was the Institutional Sportsmanship Award. 

Baseball has eleven athletes that were placed onto All-Conference Teams. Two student-athletes were named to the first team, Kosta Drosidis (Holden, MA) and Nick Genatossio (Sutton, MA)

Five players were named to the Second Team, Greg Gehring (Southold, NY)James Powers (Folsom, CA)Jarrod Marifiote (Framingham, MA)Adam Twitchell (Shrewsbury, MA), and Jack Marzec (Northbridge, MA).  

Three student-athletes were named to the Third Team, Noah Holland (Sandwich, MA), Jason Shell (Sandwich, MA), and Liam Cunningham (Northbridge, MA)

Connor Egan (Modes, CT) was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team. 

Twitchell was also placed on the All-Defensive Team for his perfect fielding percentage this past season. He was 51-for-51 in total chances with six assists and 45 putouts. 

The Major award winner for baseball is Kosta Drosidis, who has been named the 2021 GNAC Player of the year, following up his rookie of the year award just a season ago. Drosidis had 110 at bats this season. He finished the year with 43 hits (9 doubles, 4 triples, 5 home runs), 33 runs batted in, a .391 batting average, and a .682 slugging percentage. Congratulations, Kosta, on your well deserved award. 

The Anna Maria Athletics Department wants to congratulate the student-athletes on their well deserved accomplishments this spring. We look forward to next season.
