Women's Basketball Drops Home Opener To Nor'easters

PAXTON, MA - On Monday, November 20th the Anna Maria College women's basketball team hosted the University of New England Noreasters for a non-conference matchup. the AMCATS lost the game 78-52.

From the start, UNE took control of the game, outscoring Anna Maria 26-11 in the first quarter. The Nor'easters continued their strong momentum in the ensuing quarters, maintaining their lead and putting the game out of reach for the AMCATS. Gina Parmenter was the leading scorer for Anna Maria, contributing 13 points to the team's effort. Chloe Giordano and Madison Paulhus each scored 7 points, while Marinique Reddin added 7 points as well. Despite their efforts, Anna Maria was unable to generate enough offense to attempt a comeback resulting in UNE leading 78-52 over the AMCATS as the clock hit zero.

  • Sharayha Scott-Cummins went 2-2 on the free throw line while also going 1-1 for three pointers.
  • Gina Parmenter went 3-9 for three pointers.
  • Madison Paulhus went 1-1 for three pointers sinking a buzzer beater as the shot clock hit zero in the third quarter.
