Women's Basketball Narrowly Beaten By Pilgrims

HENNIKER, NH - On Saturday, December 2nd the Anna Maria College women's basketball team traveled to Henniker, NH to take on the Pilgrims of New England College for their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup of the season. The AMCATS lost the game 62-60.

In the first quarter, Anna Maria took an early lead with a score of 13-12. They continued their momentum in the second quarter, outscoring New England College 16-12. However, New England College came back strong in the third quarter, scoring 24 points compared to Anna Maria's 13. Despite a valiant effort from Anna Maria in the final quarter, New England College held on to secure the win with a score of 62-60.

Arianna Gonzalez was the standout player for Anna Maria, leading her team with 23 points. She was also impressive from beyond the arc, making 5 three-pointers out of 11 attempts. Marinique Reddin had a strong performance as well, contributing 19 points, including 8 made free throws out of 14 attempts.

  • This marks the AMCATS first meeting with the Pilgrims.

The AMCATS will be back in action on Monday, December 4th where they will travel to North Adams, MA to take on the Trailblazers of MCLA. Opening tip off is set for 6:00pm.
