Women's Basketball Scratches Past Trailblazers 68-55

NORTH ADAMS, MA - On December 4, 2023 the Anna Maria College women's basketball team traveled to North Adams, MA to take on the Trailblazers of MCLA. The AMCATS came out on top with a final score of 68 to 55.

The game was divided into four quarters, with Anna Maria leading in each quarter. In the first quarter, they scored 19 points while MCLA scored 17. The second quarter saw Anna Maria extend their lead further with 26 points, while MCLA only managed to score 6 points.

Despite a better performance from MCLA in the third quarter, where they scored 13 points to Anna Maria's 12, it wasn't enough to close the gap. In the final quarter, MCLA fought back with 19 points, but Anna Maria maintained their lead with 11 points, securing their victory.

Several players stood out during the game. Marinique Reddin from Anna Maria was the top scorer, contributing 19 points to her team's total. She also performed well defensively, grabbing an impressive 14 rebounds. Arianna Gonzalez also made a significant impact with 13 points and 4 assists.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Arianna Gonzalez went 4-8 inside the paint while also shooting 3-5 outside the arc.
  • Arianna Saldini contributed 10 points going 5-11 inside the paint.
  • Marinique Reddin secured a season high of 14 rebounds against the Trailblazers.

WHAT'S NEXT: 

The AMCATS will be back in action on Wednesday, December 6th where they will head to Holyoke, MA to take on the Mount Holyoke Lyons for a non-conference matchup. Opening tip off is set for 6:00pm.
