PAXTON, MA. – On Wednesday, November 8th the Anna Maria College men's basketball team hosted the Bridgewater State University Bears at the Fuller Center for their home opener. The AMCATS lost the game 119-110 in overtime.

The Bears opened things up early taking the lead over the AMCATS. Undeterred, Anna Maria battled hard to come back taking the lead over the Bears with a three pointer from Ray Carter Jr with eleven minutes left to play in the first half. The AMCATS would then go point for point with the Bears, keeping the score within points of each other for the remainder of the first half. It would be the AMCATS on top at the end of the first half as they led over the Bears 52-50.

After the intermission the Bears quickly came out and tied things up with a dunk from Josh Cambell. The AMCATS were unfazed however as they continued to battle with the Bears exchanging blows throughout the half. Late into the second the Bears took a short lead over the AMCATS but a pair of clutch three pointers from Carter Jr put the AMCATS back on top making it a 96-95 game with just over a minute left on the clock. Both teams would scrap together for a few more points before ultimately tying the game up 98-98 as the clock hit zero.

Five minutes up on the clock, the teams lined up for the overtime tip off. After a strong performance from the AMCATS in regulation, the Bears began to pull away, taking the lead over Anna Maria. Trailing 119-110, the AMCATS took a couple of last chance shots with the hopes to tie the game back up however the Bears would hold off the AMCATS closing the game out with a final score of 119-110.
