Bantams Too Much For Men’s Basketball

PAXTON, MA. – On Tuesday, November 28th the Anna Maria College men's basketball team hosted the Trinity College Bantams in the Fuller Center for a non-conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 87-66.

The Bantams set the tone for the night early, going up 29-6 less than half way through the first half. Struggling to generate offense, the AMCATS were held at bay by the Bantams. Ray Carter Jr and Malakhi Knight managed two three pointers a piece in the AMCATS effort to keep up with the Bantams however nothing seemed to work for the Anna Maria offense as they trailed 49-24 after twenty minutes of play.

After a tough first half, the AMCATS turned on the jets managing to inch towards the Bantams lead. Generating a stronger offense in the second half, the AMCATS went 51 percent inside the paint and a perfect 6-6 on the free throw line. Sean Zabari led the charge for the AMCATS in the second half scoring 14 points aiding the AMCATS in out scoring the Bantams 42-38. Despite taking control in the second half, the AMCATS efforts wouldn't be enough as they would still trail by 21 points as the clock hit zero.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Ray Carter Jr. led the AMCATS with 16 points going 2-4 outside the arc.
  • Sean Zabari's 14 point performance in the second half would place him as second highest scorer for the AMCATS.
  • The AMCATS were 72.7% successful on the free throw line compared to the Bantams 60.9%
