Men's Basketball Falls Short Against Bison

DUDLEY, MA - On Thursday, November 16th the Anna Maria College men's basketball team traveled to Dudley, MA to take on the Nichols College Bison for a non-conference matchup. the AMCATS lost the game 65-60.

The game started off close, with a score of 30-26 in favor of Nichols at halftime. In the second half, both teams played aggressively with the AMCATS fighting hard to make a comeback, but Nichols managed to maintain their lead and ultimately came out on top. Both teams demonstrated strong defensive efforts, with Nichols recording 9 steals and Anna Maria recording 7 steals throughout the game.

Jopaul Mckrieth had an impressive performance for the AMCATS, leading the team with 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 8 assists. Gabe Armstead also made notable contributions with 11 points and 8 rebounds. The AMCATS went 8-10 on the freethrow line as a whole with Jakai Alexander, McKrieth and Armstead shooting perfect at the line. Jayden Dickerson came in strong off the bench for the AMCATS going 5-7 on field goal attemps and 4-6 on three pointers for a total of 14 points on the night. The AMCATS showed resilience and had standout performances from players like Mckrieth, Dickerson and Armstead, despite the loss.

WHAT'S NEXT: The AMCATS will be back in action on Saturday, November 18th where they will take on the Gordon College Fighting Scots for a non-conference matchup. following Saturdays game, the AMCATS will travel to Vermont State Castleton on Monday to take on the Spartans before facing off with the Clark University Cougars for their annual game leading into thanksgiving break!
