Women's Hockey Drops Semifinals To Raiders

WORCESTER, MA. – On Friday, February 23rd the Anna Maria College women's ice hockey team took on the Rivier University Raiders at the Worcester Ice Center for the ECHA Conference Semifinals. The AMCATS lost the game 1-0 in overtime.

Scoreless for three straight periods, it was a battle of the goalies as both teams struggled to find the back of the net. The first and only goal of the game came in overtime as the Raiders managed to score just under two minutes into the five minute three on three period. The goal came off the stick of Brianna Rumptz off a pass from Caeli Reed and Paige Anger. Sam Dahill stopped 44 out of 45 shots during the game.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Sam Dahill closed out her season with 1,732 saves throughout her four year career at Anna Maria.
  • The AMCATS ended their season with a record of 8-14-4 posting their most wins in a single season.
  • Jordyn Bleaney led the AMCATS this season with 17 points.
  • Shayla Macdonald posted an impressive 16 points with Tess Henry ranked third with 12 points.

WHAT'S NEXT: 

The AMCATS will be back in action next winter where they will start their inaugural season as members of the MASCAC.
