Bison Stampede Past Women's Ice Hockey 6-2

BURRILLVILLE, RI. – On Friday, December 8th the Anna Maria College women's ice hockey team traveled to Burrillville, RI to take on the Nichols College Bison. The AMCATS lost the game 6-2.

After a scoreless first period, the Bison were the first to strike, with a power play goal from Grace Wiggett. The goal came just ten minutes into the second period. The Bison kept their momentum going scoring their second goal of the night just two minutes later, off the stick of Rhea Bullens. The AMCATS finally broke their silence just minutes later after Carissima Heinis found the back of the net cutting the Bison lead in half. Unfortunately the AMCATS wouldn't be able to build off their goal as the Bison tucked in their third goal of the night off yet another power play opportunity. With just two minutes left to play in the second period, the Bison led 3-1 over the AMCATS.

The AMCATS started things early in the third period after Shayla MacDonald found Tessa Henry for the AMCATS second goal of the evening. With the game still in reach, the AMCATS needed just one goal to tie things up. However a five minute major on Olympia Myers would put the Bison on the power play with just over five minutes left to play in the third period. The Bison would manage three goals during the AMCATS penalty making it a 6-2 game as the clock hit zero. The Bison scored five of their six goal while on the power play.
