Colonels Blank Men's Ice Hockey 4-0

AUBURN, MA. – On Friday, December 8th the Anna Maria College men's ice hockey team hosted the Curry College Colonels at the Horgan Arena in Auburn, MA. The AMCATS lost the game 4-0.

The Colonels found their first goal of the evening off the stick of Gage Dill, just over eleven minutes into the first period. He was assisted by Ryan Prewitt. Leading 1-0, the Colonels would find the back of the net yet again just seven minutes later after Tyler Drummond banked one off one of the AMCATS sticks making it a 2-0 game with just over a minute left to play in the first period.

After being outshot in the first period, the AMCATS picked up the pace, putting pressure on the Colonels defense. Despite outshooting Curry 17-7 in the second period, the Colonels still managed to capitalize on a back door rebound, increasing their lead to three just over ten minutes into the second period. Struggling to find quality opportunities, the AMCATS would close out the first period behind the Colonels 3-0.

Taking control yet again in the third period, the AMCATS outshot the colonels 13-6. unfortunately for the AMCATS, this would not be enough as Colonels goaltender Shane Soderwall would manage to stop all thirteen shots that came his way throughout the period. The game would come to a close as the Colonels tucked away their last goal of the evening on an empty net. The AMCATS would close out the game behind the Colonels 4-0.
