Blazers Too Much For Baseball

CHICOPEE, MA - On Sunday, March 24th the Anna Maria College baseball team traveled to Chicopee, MA to take on the Elms College Blazers for their second conference game of the season. the AMCATS lost the game 6-0.

Anna Maria would only muster up 3 hits on the day, as Elms Starter Henry Rondon kept hitters off balance all day. The cats would threaten only once all game as they loaded the bases in the 6th inning after singles from Jarrod Marifiote and pinch hitter Matt Beuka, and a walk from Brady Alyward. Riley Grindle would pinch hit but Rondon would finish off his day with a big strikeout to get out of the jam. 

Michael Shorey got the start for the Amcats and gave the Cats a shot to win going 6 innings surrendering 4 earned on 8 hits and punched out 3. Christian Corliss came in relief for Anna Maria giving up 2 hits and striking out 3 over the final 2 frames.  

WHAT'S NEXT: 

The AMCATS will be back in action on Tuesday, March 26th where they will host the Fitchburg State University Falcons at the New England Baseball Complex in Northborough, MA for a non-conference matchup. Opening pitch is set for 3:00pm.
