Big 6th Inning Pushes Amcats Past Lyndon State.
NORTHBOROUGH, MA - On Tuesday, April 2nd the Anna Maria College baseball team hosted the Vermont State Lyndon Hornets for a non-conference matchup. the AMCATS won the game 5-2.
Sean Sage got the start for the Amcats and gave them a chance to win scattering 5 hits over 5 innings of work and striking out 5. Jeremy Rosenberg got the scoring started for the Amcats with a solo shot to right in the home half of the 5th, his 4th of the year. The amcats would go on to score 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th to take a 5-2 lead. Tommy Sasso would single to start the inning and take second on a pass ball. Kosta Drosidis would score Sasso on a base hit to left to tie the game at 2. Drosidis came around to score on a Jarrod Marifiote RBI double to left to put the cats on top 3-2. 2 batters later, Brady Alyward would connect on his 2nd Homerun of the year, a 2 run shot to left, extending the lead to 5-2. Levesque would throw 2 scoreless innings of relief before Godin would come in to shut the door, striking out 4 over the final 2 frames on his way to his 1st career save.

- Hunter Levesque picked up his first career win.
- Tyler Godin collected his first college save.
- Drosidis and Rosenberg both finished the day 2 for 4 with an RBI.

The AMCATS will be back in action on Wednesday, April 3rd where they will take on the Curry College Colonels for a non-conference matchup. Opening pitch is set for 3:00pm.
