Nick Choate, Baseball

Junior right-handed pitcher Nick Choate(Grafton, MA) of the Anna Maria College baseball team has been named the AMCAT Spotlight Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending on March 8th, 2023. Choate was unbelievable on Friday against Penn St. Abington University in his first start of the season, pitching five innings and striking out thirteen batters. Earlier in the week, Choate pitched three-point one innings coming in for relief against the Fitchburg Falcons striking out five batters. Choate has a tremendous amount of strikeouts in the season already with twenty five total strikeouts in just thirteen point one innings. Choate posting an incredible ERA of 2.02 on the season and averages a tremendous amount of strikeouts per a game so far this season with it being 16.88 per a game. 

UP NEXT: Anna Maria baseball will be back on the field on Saturday March 16th, 2023 when they travel to Mass Maritime Academy for a double header against the Buccaneers. The games are scheduled to start at 12:00pm and followed then by a 2:30.
