Freshman men’s ice hockey goaltender Matthew Hennessey was named AMCAT Spotlight Player of the Week for games played December 9th through the 17th. On Saturday, December 9th, Hennessey posted an impressive 44 saves in a 5-2 win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies. 17 of those saves came in the third period allowing the AMCATS to hold on to their lead. Hennessey kept his momentum going until Wednesday night where the AMCATS hosted the Pilgrims of New England College for the last game of 2023. Hennessey recorded another 40 stops while also earning his first career NCAA shutout. Hennessey closed out the first semester with a 1.69 GAA and a .953 SV%.

The men’s ice hockey team will be back in action on January 5th where they will head to Providence, RI to take on the Wildcats of Johnson and Wales University. Opening puck drop is set for 7:30pm.
