2019 Women's Ice Hockey Preview

PAXTON, MA - The Anna Maria women's ice hockey team returns to the ice on Friday and Saturday, November 1st and 2nd when they travel to Alvernia University for 7:00 PM and 2:00 PM matchups. The AMCATS will look to create momentum throughout the season and continue to strengthen the program.

WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO

  • Anna Maria has brought in a recruiting class of 13 new student-athletes. "A year ago, our first recruiting class established our program," said Anna Maria women's ice hockey head coach Mike Cox. "This class will define it. They will be representing three countries, six states and two Canadian provinces. This is one of the most diverse and dynamic classes in college hockey."
  • This year will be the second full season for the AMCATS in NCAA play.
  • Anna Maria will return one of their top goal-scorers, Riley Cote (Tewksbury, MA) who paced the AMCATS offense with two goals. 
  • The AMCATS bring back both goaltenders who split time between the pipes last year, Gabrielle Gibson (Anchorage, AK) and Gabrielle Ohanesian (Bozeman, MT). Ohanesian led the way for Anna Maria with a .919 save percentage, Gibson was not far behind with a .906 save percentage.

WHAT GAMES TO WATCH

  • The 'Cats first home game is on Friday, November 8th at 8:00 PM.
  • Anna Maria will only be home once in January, so don't miss the AMCATS when they take on Post, Saturday, January 25th at 5:30 PM.
  • The squad will have a rematch against the school they earned their first NCAA win last year traveling to Salve Regina. The AMCATS will head there on Friday, February 7th at 7:15 PM.
  • The AMCATS last home game will be on Friday, February 21st at 7:00 PM versus Becker.
  • Anna Maria finishes the year traveling to Becker on Saturday, February 22nd at 6:40 PM.
