Lady AMCATS Celebrate Championship Title
Paxton, Mass. – The 2013 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) championship field hockey team was honored in a halftime ceremony at a recent men's basketball game. The team was joined by President Jack P. Calareso, Ph. D at midcourt to be recognized for their season accomplishments.
The Lady AMCATS posted a come-from-behind 3-2 overtime victory in the title match to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament for the first time in school history.
Sophomore Kylie Dalbec was named the NECC Player of the Year while teammate Kaitlyn Moran was tabbed NECC Rookie of the Year. Head Coach Sharon Zenevitch was voted NECC Coach of the Year for the third consecutive year.
Senior defender Shannon Looney, junior forward Nichole Lowe and sophomore forward Kayla Lapierre were also selected to the All-Conference team.
