NEW LONDON, N.H. – August 31, 2013 – Junior Nichole Lowe (Saugus, Mass.) delivered three assists and sophomore Kylie Dalbec (Portland, Maine) notched two goals as the Anna Maria College field hockey team captured a 4-0 victory over host Colby-Sawyer College in a season opener for both teams.

With the three helpers Lowe set the new AMCAT record for career assists. Lowe's 21 assists bested the record of 19 set by Jen Hurley (2003-05).

The AMCATS, who were picked to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) this season, received three goals in the first half and added another early in the second.

Sophomore Kayla Lapierre (Worcester, Mass.) put Anna Maria on top 1-0 at 8:48 when she found the back of the cage off a feed from Lowe.

Seven minutes later, the AMCATS doubled the lead on a goal from sophomore Kylie Dalbec.

Dalbec added her second tally of the game at 29:52 on an assist from Lowe.

Anna Maria put the game away early in the second half after junior Luigina Cerro (Beverly, Mass.) scored her first goal of the season. Lowe was credited with her third assist of the game.

Sophomore goalie Mary Kate Breen (Londonderry, N.H.) made three stops to earn the shutout victory. Colby-Sawyer sophomore Jodi Dumayne (Claremont, N.H.) had ten saves, which included stopping a penalty stroke.

Colby-Sawyer travels to Becker tomorrow for a 1:00 pm start. Anna Maria will host Wheaton on Tuesday at 3:00 pm.
