Dalbec, Moran Sweep NECC Awards

Paxton, Mass – For the second time this season the Anna Maria College field hockey team has swept the weekly New England Collegiate Conference award selections. Sophomore Kylie Dalbec (Portland, ME) was named the NECC Player of the Week, while teammate freshman Kaitlyn Moran (Leicester, MA) earned NECC Rookie of the Week honors.

Dalbec, currently the NECC scoring leader (8 goals, 16 points), notched four goals for a total of eight points last week as Anna Maria went a perfect 3-0 in non-conference play. The second year student-athlete potted one goal in a 4-2 victory over Rivier and the game winner on Sunday afternoon against Thomas College. In a 5-3 win over Johnson & Wales University, Dalbec notched a pair of goals including a penalty stroke.

Moran netted two goals and an assist for five points over a seven day span for Anna Maria. The first year player scored her first collegiate goal and assisted on the game-winning goal by teammate Nichole Lowe in the victory over Rivier University. Moran scored in back-to-back games when she deposited a rebound in the back of the net against Johnson & Wales University on Saturday afternoon. The midfielder also played a strong two-way game against Thomas, a 2-0 victory.

After a few days off the Lady AMCATS will return to action on Thursday afternoon when they travel to Lasell College for a 4:00pm match-up.
