Lady AMCATS sweep NECC Weekly Awards

Anna Maria College junior Nichole Lowe (Saugus, Mass.) and freshman Lauren Beauregard (Hubbardston, Mass.) have been selected New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week respectively as announce by the conference office on Monday morning.

Lowe notched three assists in the season opening 4-0 road victory over Colby-Sawyer College. Lowe became the AMCAT All-Time assist leader with her three helpers, she broke the eight year record of 19 and now sits at 21 and counting. Lowe led the NECC with 15 assists last season. Lowe three helpers all came from beautiful cross passes from the right wing for the 1-0 AMCATS.

While Beauregard's defensive play helped backbone the AMCATS to their first shutout of the season, a 4-0 blanking of host Colby-Sawyer in the team's season opener. Penciled in at the midfield position the first year player was crucial in transitioning the ball from the defensive to the offensive end. In addition she helped pressure the play inside the circle which led to Anna Maria scoring opportunities. 

The Lady AMCATS return to action on Tuesday night when they host Wheaton College at 6:00 pm on Alumni Field.
