WATERVILLE, ME- Goalkeeper Mary Kate Breen would finish the game with ten saves on ten shots to lead the Anna Maria College field hockey team to a 2-0 victory over host Thomas (2-3) College in non-conference field hockey game Sunday afternoon. It is Breen's second shut-out of the season.
Kylie Dalbec gave the AMCATS a 1-0 lead at the 29:19 marker in the first half, firing a backhanded shot passed Bishop's outstretched stick. Anna Maria would go into the half with a 1-0 lead over the Terriers despite being outshot 9-2.
The AMCATS would strike again after a goal by Luigina Cerro six minutes into the closing half.
The Terriers held a 14-8 advantage in shots over Anna Maria, including a 9-8 edge in penalty corners. Terriers goalkeeper Jasmine Bishop made four saves in the losing effort.
Anna Maria will return to action Thursday as they travel to Lasell College in a non-conference matchup.
