Lady AMCATS Advance to NECC Final

Paxton, Mass. – Anna Maria freshman Kaitlyn Moran (Leicester, Mass.) posted her second hat trick of the season  to lead the AMCATS to a 5-0 win over visiting Becker College in New England Collegiate Conference Semifinal action on Wednesday night at AMCAT Field.

With the win the AMCATS now advance to the NECC Finals, which they will host on Saturday, November 2nd at 6:00pm. Anna Maria will face Regis College in the Championship after the Pride downed Elms College 2-1 2OT in semifinal action.

Anna Maria improves to 14-6 while the Hawks complete their season with a 2-17 record.

Joining Moran on the stat sheet, Nichole Lowe (Saugus, Mass.) delivered a goal and two assists, Kylie Dalbec notched a goal and an assist while sophomore Kayla Lapierre (Worcester, Mass.) added a helper. Goaltender Mary Kate Breen (Londonderry, NH) made 4 saves to earn her seventh shutout of the season and her 14th win which equals her win total from last season.

Becker was led by junior Brittany Cormier (Danbury, Conn.) who had two shots on the night and senior Cameron Rogers (Granby, Conn.) who notched a defensive save.

Sophomore Kylie Dalbec (Portland, Maine) set yet another AMCAT all-time mark posting her 20th goal of the season just 2:03 into the first stanza to give Anna Maria the quick 1-0 goal off a crisp pass from Lowe.

Moran made it a 2-0 game with a redirect off a Dalbec drive from the top of the circle that found the inside left post at 11:57 and added her tenth goal of the season  when she one-timed a pass from Kayla Garczynski (Norwood, Mass.) at 15:34 past Becker netminder Gabrielle Gallo (Northport, NY).

The AMCATS put the game out of reach in the second half netting two goals in 23 seconds. First Nichole Lowe tipped the twine at 42:37 for her tenth goal of the season, then Moran followed with her third marker at 43:00 for the 5-0 final.
