McClune, Dalbec, Zenevitch Earn Major NECC Awards

Anna Maria's Marybeth McClune (Worcester, Mass.) was chosen by the league's coaches as the 2012 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Field Hockey Player of the Year. The senior forward scored eight goals in conference play including three game winners for the AMCATS who went undefeated against NECC competition and captured the 2012 title.

Anna Maria first year midfielder Kylie Dalbec (Portland, ME) scored four goals and added six assists for 14 points during six conference contests earning NECC Rookie of the Year accolades.

Anna Maria head coach Sharon Zenevitch was voted Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season after leading her team to a perfect 6-0 mark in conference play.

For the second consecutive season, Elms senior Alexandra Bonavita was honored as the league's top goalkeeper. Bonavita allowed only six goals in six conference games recording 40 saves for a save percentage of .870 and a slim 1.00 goals against average.

Daniel Webster College has been honored with the league's Sportsmanship Award. NECC all-conference selections are determined by a vote of the conference coaches.

Also garnering honors for the AMCATS, juniors Shannon Looney and Nicole Morrison were voted to the First Team All-Conference joining teammates McClune and Dalbec while sophomore Nichole Lowe and freshman Mary Kate Breen received Honorable Mention status.
