Breen Honored by NECC
PAXTON, Mass. – For the second time this season goaltender Mary Kate Breen (Londonderry, NH) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference on Monday morning.
Breen was a perfect 2-0 on the week for Anna Maria leading the AMCATS to two crucial NECC wins to stay undefeated and atop the conference standings. Breen picked up her third shutout for her rookie campaign with a 6-0 win over Bay Path College making 5 saves in the win. Against NECC foe Regis College on Saturday the netminder made 3 key second half saves to lead the AMCATS to a 2-1 win.
Breen currently leads the NECC in minutes played (1085), wins (10) and goals against average (1.86).
The AMCATS return to action on Tuesday night at Wheelock College, game time is slated for 8:30pm.
