Breen Named Field Hockey Goaltender of the Week
WINTHROP, Mass.—Senior goaltender Mary Kate Breen (Londonderry, N.H.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Corvias Goaltender of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
BREEN'S WEEK
Breen earned all three starts on the week and totaled 31 saves. She tallied 18 saves in the team's opening loss to Eastern Connecticut State before adding five more saves in a combined shutout against Becker. She rounded out the week with eight saves in 61 minutes of action at Colby-Sawyer. On the week, Breen averaged 10.33 saves per game and held a .838 save percentage.
THE NUMBERS
Breen's 18 saves against Eastern Connecticut were the most she's tallied since October 3rd, 2013, when she stopped 21 attempts in a 2-0 loss to Bridgewater State.
