Nichols Too Much For Men’s Hoops

DUDLEY, MA: The Anna Maria College men's basketball team lost 88-78 at Nichols College on Saturday in a matchup of cross-county rivals in Dudley.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Anna Maria sophomore forward Gabe Armstead (Dallas, GA) continued his impressive start to his rookie season, scoring 28 points while pulling down 13 rebounds with three steals and two blocks, all while shooting 13-of-22 from the floor.
  • Anna Maria senior guard Ralph Grasso, Jr. (Marlborough, MA) finished with 10 points, six boards and two assists.
  • Anna Maria senior guard Kennedy Minix-Rogers (Smyrna, GA) continued to run the offense for the AMCATS, dishing out an amazing 13 assists. As of press time, Minix-Rogers' 13 dimes matched the highest single-game total in the nation for this season.
  • Freshman Tahmeen Dupree scored a career-high 20 points, leading six Bison in double-figures.
  • Down 25 early in the second half, the AMCATS rallied with an 11-3 run, capped off with a layup by sophomore guard Trevian Grenon (Sutton, MA). But they were ultimately unable to close the gap.
