Clutch ‘CATS: Men’s Basketball Pulls Away From St. Joseph’s
PAXTON, MA: The Anna Maria College men's basketball team won 89-83 over visiting Saint Joseph's College on Wednesday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at the Fuller Center in Paxton.

TURNING POINT:
- Clinging to a 77-75 lead with 4:18 to go, the AMCATS turned to their starters down the stretch, going on an 8-2 run capped off with a layup from Anna Maria senior guard Ralph Grasso, Jr. (Marlborough, MA) to ice it.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Grasso had his best shooting performance in three weeks, leading the AMCATS with 26 points on 11-of-16 shooting with six rebounds and two assists.
- Anna Maria sophomore forward Gabe Armstead (Dallas, GA) made 11-of-12 shots - an incredible 91.7 field goal percentage - for 25 points, with four rebounds, two assists and two blocks.
- Anna Maria sophomore guard Trevian Grenon (Sutton, MA) continued his strong play of late, scoring 17 points while shooting 7-of-10 from the floor.
- Anna Maria senior guard Kennedy Minix-Rogers (Smyrna, GA) dished out ten assists to go along with eight points and three steals.
- Collectively, the AMCATS shot 61.7 percent from the floor, their best performance since February 4, 2020, an 81-64 win at Saint Joseph's.
- SJC junior forward Drew Shea (Mount Desert Island, ME) led the Monks with 15 points, nine rebounds, five assists and two blocks while going three-of-three from downtown.
- SJC senior guard Griffin Foley (Portland, ME) posted 16 points on the night.
