Men’s Basketball Ends Season In GNAC Semis

WEST HARTFORD, CT: The Anna Maria College men's basketball team saw their 2021-2022 season come to an end on Saturday afternoon in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) semifinals with a 99-46 loss at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, Connecticut.

THE BASICS:

  • Records: Blue Jays of USJ 25-1 | AMCATS of Anna Maria 15-11    

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • With a 15-11 record, the AMCATS finish with their highest win total since 2016, and their best winning percentage since 2012.
  • Anna Maria senior guard Ralph Grasso, Jr. (Marlborough, MA), playing in the final game of his collegiate career, led the AMCATS with 14 points in just 26 minutes while shooting 50 percent from the floor and picking off four steals. Grasso finishes his career with 943 career points.
  • Anna Maria senior guard Kennedy Minix-Rogers (Smyrna, GA) added eight points with two assists and a steal.
  • Anna Maria freshman forward Jayden Dickerson (Springfield, MA) stepped up with a career-high seven boards to lead the AMCAT rebounders.
  • Anna Maria sophomore guard Joey Nuttall (Holden, MA) scored six points off the bench for the AMCATS.
  • USJ senior guard Tyree Mitchell (East Hartford, CT) led the Blue Jays with 22 points, shooting eight-of-twelve from the floor.
